Built in the local Comporta style, whitewashed walls, thatched touches, hand-made tiles, Casa Paloma sits on a generous plot in Possanco, just outside Carrasqueira. Two double bedrooms in the main house and a separate cabana with a double bedroom and ensuite bathroom, a long wooden table under the porch, and the kind of quiet you only find this side of the Sado.

What's inside
Around the house
A handful of fishing villages, endless beaches, storks nesting on wooden poles, and the best grilled fish on the peninsula. Between beach days you'll find art galleries, design studios, and open-air markets like Lusa Market, all at an unhurried Alentejo pace.

Empty dunes, soft pink sunsets, and miles of unspoiled coastline a few minutes from the door.

Trot along the shoreline with the Cavalos na Areia stables, a Comporta tradition.

Praia do Pego, Praia da Comporta, Carvalhal, pick your favorite beach and stay all afternoon.

Walk the centenary stilt pier during high tide, wooden walkways, painted fishing boats, and the Sado estuary's slow rhythm.

From beachside tascas serving just-caught fish to celebrated chef experiences, Comporta's gastronomic scene spans humble local dishes and international menus, all a short drive from the door.

White storks nest on every chimney and pole around Comporta, look up and you'll catch them gliding overhead all summer long.
From our guests
"An absolute dream. The house is even more beautiful than the photos and the location is so peaceful. We didn't want to leave."
"Perfect family stay. The garden, the light through the pine trees in the morning, pure Comporta magic."
"The hosts thought of every detail. Bicycles, beach towels, a stocked kitchen. We felt at home from the first minute."
"A casa mais bonita onde já fiquei. Sossego, simplicidade e o cheiro a pinhal. Voltaremos no próximo verão."

Off season
Comporta in the quieter months has a beauty of its own, misty pine forests, empty beaches, and long lunches by the fire. Casa Paloma is just as inviting in autumn and winter as it is in summer.
